Last week, one of my coaching clients had a scare.
It was mid-morning, and she was on her way to a personal appointment at a local hair salon.
She lives in a small town, and as she turned onto the road in front of her office, she felt like she was being followed.
After a couple more turns, the car in her rearview mirror continued to follow.
Already feeling nervous, she parked her car, and the stranger pulled into the slot next to her.
To her surprise, who popped out of the car?
A competitive agent whom she was recruiting and with whom she’d been in regular contact!
As he popped out of his car, he said,
I was on my way to see you and noticed you were just leaving your office.
I was hoping to talk with you for a few minutes.
During our last call, you mentioned that if I ever needed help, I could reach out.
I need some help!
I’m having an urgent issue with one of my listings, and I’ve called my manager twice and got no response.
I’m going to lose the listing if I can’t get this resolved.
Can you help?
The salon owner provided an impromptu place to meet, and the issue only took a few minutes to resolve.
Lesson learned:If you tell your prospects they can contact you when their manager drops the ball, you’ll frequently be in just the right place at just the right time.
There are a lot of managers dropping a lot of balls.
