Bring the Real Estate Game to Life

by | Oct 29, 2025

This year’s World Series is underway.

The last few weeks have been filled with remarkable plays, tight games, and down-to-the-wire finishes.  And Monday night’s 18-inning game lasted almost seven hours!

As fans watch these games on television, most of their attention is focused on the action taking place on the field.

But have you ever noticed there’s also a need for commentary?

We want someone to interpret what’s really happening on the field and give us the inside story.

What’s the track record of the person at bat?  What are his chances of succeeding? Is he able to handle the pressure?   And dozens of more questions.

Doubt this is true?  Try watching a game while muting the sound, and see how uncomfortable it feels!

Like in baseball, real estate agents don’t like watching the market without commentary.

They want a commentator (a true expert) to help them understand what’s really happening.

As a leader in your local market, you have the responsibility to take on this role for your agents and the opportunity to provide commentary for your competitors’ agents, as well.

If an agent is watching the market with the volume turned down, they often will welcome your insight.

It’s a great way to get a recruiting conversation going.

The Attrition Variables

The Attrition Variables

While these attrition constants still have the greatest influence, there are some emerging attrition variables worth noting. People also tend to leave companies when: They feel like they’re not doing as well as others in their peer group outside the company. They feel like they’re not as far along as they should be at a certain point in life.

If you’re not focusing most of your retention effort on these issues, you’ll miss the mark. If you’re not focusing most of your recruiting effort on exploiting these weaknesses among your competitors, you’re missing the best opportunities.

The Persistence Mindset

The Persistence Mindset

A leader equipped with this mindset can have a profound effect on the life and career of each individual they engage. It works because an agent is getting a real-time glimpse of what it would be like to work on your team. But it only becomes believable when it is persistently applied over time.
