I’m one of those guys who gets up early and hits the gym when it first opens.
Now that it’s January, the number of cars in the parking lot when I arrive is about double what it was in December.
The numbers will dwindle back to a normal level soon (New Year Resolution Quitter’s Day was last Friday), but it got me thinking about the nature of the individuals who will make it all the way to December this year.
Of course, there are the diehard gym rats, but there’s another group who will also beat the odds.
It’s the two middle-aged women who walk next to each on a pair of treadmills and talk nonstop.
It’s the husband and wife who arrive together, do separate workouts, and compare notes when they’re heading back to their car.
It’s the daughter who’s helping her elderly mom build strength to avoid injury.
All these individuals were there last December, and I’m betting they’ll make it to this December too.
Why? Because they’re not alone.
They’re sharing a common purpose with someone else and that someone is depending on them to show up.
Any long-term, proactive activity that’s good for you, including recruiting, will follow this pattern.
Are you going it alone right now?
If so, I’d encourage you to surround yourself with a few like-minded people who are also fighting the recruiting battle.
Today’s download will help you build a recruiting accountability group on your own.
If you’d rather join a group that is already established, reach out and we’ll help you connect with one of our Talent Attraction Groups.
You can reach your recruiting goals this year, but your chances of doing it alone are pretty low.
