Becoming an Authority on Teams

by | Feb 1, 2024

If you want to become “fluent” in talking about teams with both your existing agents and recruiting prospects, here are some topics you should be ready to address.

What does every legitimate team have in common?

They have a strong leader AND a strong operator who complement each other.  Without both roles, teams tend to fail.

How do teams handle value propositions?

A strong team will have compelling value propositions for both their clients and the team members they hope to attract.   It’s a red flag if these don’t exist, or they’re not compelling.

What are the expectations of the team and its members?

Team goals, a list of responsibilities for team members, a defined accountability structure, a reward system for outstanding work, and other factors must be clearly documented.

How is compensation going to be handled?

It’s important to understand how the team leader and the others on the team are compensated.  If things go well, how does each team member share in the success?   If things don’t go well, how will it affect each team member’s income?

This is just a small sampling of the topics covered in the CEO Team Manual. You’ll learn much more after you read the whole guide.

As an office leader, it’s helpful to understand these issues so you can coach your agents and prospects on the pros and cons of joining a team.
