Conduct a Site Survey Before You Build

by | Jan 8, 2024

As we start the new year, it’s tempting to brush off last year’s recruiting plan, make a few updates, and get to work.

Doing this assumes that most of your underlying assumptions about what’s going on in the real estate industry has not changed.

Is this a reasonable assumption?

Does it matter that transaction volume has declined significantly for the second year in the row?  How does that affect recruiting?

Have the industry lawsuits affected how new and up-and-coming, experienced agents view their career prospects?

What real estate business models are gaining traction under the current economic conditions and why?

Why are experienced agents leaving their companies?  Is it just economic reasons, or are there other patterns emerging?

Are there new leaders emerging in the industry who are having more success attracting agents?  How are they engaging agents?

If you don’t know the answers to these questions, you might join us for our first Recruiting Mastermind of 2024.

During this session, industry veterans Mark Johnson and Dean Cottrill will conduct a recruiting “site survey” for 2024.

Your takeaway will be a set of assumptions from which you can build a reliable recruiting plan for 2024.

High performing recruiters and hiring managers spend a minute planning before rushing into execution mode.

They work smarter and harder.

How to Get it Right by Being Wrong

How to Get it Right by Being Wrong

There are several well-documented strategies researchers have discovered, but the easiest one to implement quickly is using a structured interview process. Develop a common set of questions for your interviews and record the answers candidates provide (take notes). And then try to hold back judgment until after the interview and when you’ve had time to review your notes.

Doing Only the Things You Like Doing

Doing Only the Things You Like Doing

For most recruiters and hiring managers, recruiting is a complex, end-to-end process containing a bunch of the individual tasks all of which they’re not going to enjoy. Those who push through unpleasant tasks not only find success but also find more satisfaction in the parts of the recruiting process they do enjoy.
